Blackberry Alpha Device app of the week : Espier Launcher

Category : Utilities, Launcher

Price : -

App World Link : Not available on app world

My Review : I just got hold of a brand new Blackberry OS 10 Alpha device when I attended the Bangalore's leg of the blackberry world tour jam. There isn't much you can do with the device as of yet, but this launcher helps you ramp up the phone and showcases the potential that the Blackberry OS 10 can have. The display and the layout of your phone becomes a little more presentable with this launcher.

You cant find it on the app world, however you can download the bar converted file from http://forums.crackberry.com/android-app-sideloading-f258/request-espier-launcher-hd-711855/

Go try it if you have had the privilege of owning the alpha device.

Playbook app of the week: Cooklet

Category : Diet & Health

Price: Free

App World Link http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/60772/?lang=en

My Review: The UI in this one is by far the best I've seen for any recipe related apps among st the ones in App World. You can search through a large choice of cuisines and recipes. A very interesting feature I found helpful was the indexing of the recipes based on the amount of time it takes to cook them.
If I wanted to cook something good for lunch in not more than 30 minutes, I can do so by specifying the time and the type of food I want.

Damn good UI, UX and a must have on your Playbook if you love to cook!

Windows Phone app of the week: Wordament

Category : Gaming

Price: Free

Marketplace Linkhttp://www.windowsphone.com/en-US/apps/c62201b4-e059-e011-854c-00237de2db9e

My Review: This one is for all the word game lovers out there. A multiplayer online gaming platform where you compete with players from all over the world.
The idea behind the game is simple, find as many words as possible in a time span of 1 and half minutes. A rank list showing you where you stand among st other players across the world is generated at the end of each game.

Nice UX and very addictive!
